Madam,

We live in Cwmystwyth - a most picturesque area of Ceredigion. Over the Easter holidays many holidaymakers visit the area. Their greeting over this period has been to see pavements and verges overflowing with rubbish bins. These refuse bags have not been collected for over three weeks, The fact that we have recently received our increased council tax bills makes this situation particularly galling.

When ringing the council the excuses have ranged from the road being too icy (council cuts mean that our roads are not gritted) to ‘lack of re-sources’. How much longer will we have to go on paying more and more in council tax and receiving fewer and fewer services?

Yours etc

Sandy Neville
