ABERYSTWYTH’S one way system has been blocked this afternoon after a collision between a car and a female pedestrian near Cambrian Street.

Emergency services are on the scene, while police have blocked off both entrances to the one-way system at Thespian Street near the Premier Express store.

Officers are diverting traffic away from the area at the bottom of Penglais Hill.

A Welsh Ambulance spokeswoman said that the service was called shortly before 1.15pm today "to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Thespian Street in Aberystwyth.""We sent a crew in an emergency ambulance to the scene, and a female was taken to Bronglais General Hospital."A Dyfed-Powys police spokesperson said: "At approximately 1.20pm police were alerted to a collision on Thespian Street, Aberystwyth, involving a silver Vauxhall Astra car and female pedestrian. "Ambulance was at scene – but believed to be minor injuries."
