DOLGELLAU is looking blooming marvellous once more as its flowerbeds are reinstated.

Dolgellau Town Council, led by county councillor Linda Morgan, and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor have worked together to place planters around the historic market town in order to beautify the area for locals and visitors alike.

Cllr Morgan said: “It was a pleasure to organise the flowers in the town again this year on behalf of the Dolgellau Town Council.

“The displays were done by Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor Gardening Department.

“Special thanks to Dylan Wyn Jones, tutor at the college, and his staff Tom Springle, Peter Felton and student Robert Williams, who is a student on work experience.

“Also a very special thanks to the Independent Living Skills and Pre-vocational students who helped with the growing and establishing of the plants.

“I am hoping that their example will be an inspiration to other young people and local businesses to take part and help care for their local environment especially here in Dolgellau town centre.

She added: “It is great news that the students are actively involved in contributing to improving the community and bringing so much colour to the town with their daffodils, primroses and pansies.

“They organised flowers for the eight containers we have in the town. Thank you to them all.”
