Elisabeth Brown, the president, opened the AGM, held at the Baptist Church.
An invitation was sent to Meinir Lloyd Jones, the WI adviser and current county chairperson, but unfortunately she sent her apologies and all the best for the next WI year.
She hopes to be attend next year’s AGM.
When asked at the last meeting, no members wanted to join the new committee, so the previous committee was asked to carry on. They all agreed to do so. Elisabeth agreed to carry on as president.
Jean, treasurer, then gave her annual report, which the president duly signed.
She then gave the current set of our accounts. The nursing home visits are still ongoing. The next craft meeting is at 29 Ffordd Alban on Wednesday, 25 November, at 10.30am.
The Christmas dinner is on 10 December at the Woodlands.
The president has asked members to fill in the form from Gwynedd County Council on the ‘Gwynedd Challenge’.
The president has received a letter from Sue Main about sheepdog trials in Morfa Camp in September 2016.
She has requested the Tywyn WI help out with the catering for 5,000.
Elisabeth is to phone Meinir Lloyd Jones, county chair, to ask for help. She would also like members to dress in national costume!
Tywyn WI Is nearly 90 years old members were asked to think about how to celebrate this.
The British Legion is having a table-top sale on Saturday 28 November, at the secondary school, and ten to 12 members were asked to man a table for the WI.
Sandi said she would do it.
The next meeting is on Tuesday, 1 December at 2pm. It is to be a taster afternoon. The competition is to be ‘the best food item’ voted for by the members. Members were reminded about the secret santa gifts.
Spiritual group
The Angel Lights Spiritual Group in Tywyn will be holding an afternoon of chocolate bingo on Saturday, 14 November, at 2pm at the Scouts Hut. All welcome.
