Madam,

I am very interested in the story in the Cambrian News, headlined Urgent talks to discuss closure of rural banks. Apparently a meeting was held between “top brass” bankers and our MP, Liz Saville Roberts.

Am I to really believe that, because the meeting was held with “top brass” bankers, things will be different from now on?

If the banks in question aren’t making enough money, then no amount of “top brass” bankers will allow the bank to remain.

Capitalism needs profits and without profits the ordinary man and woman mean nothing to these “top brass”. We have lost banks already in Mrs Saville Roberts’ constituency and, additionally, the cash machines were then removed leaving us with nothing.

So, what can I expect from your “top brass” meeting Mrs Saville Roberts? I am hoping that you discussed all of your constituents’ problems with regard to banking facilities, or should I expect a continuation of lack of banking facilities in my area.

Perhaps you were able to persuade these “top brass” bankers to reintroduce the banking services I expect from the bank I chose to put my money into?

Yours etc, O Jean Thomas, Llanfair.
