We have paid again our annual tribute to all those who from World War One onwards have lost their lives in the Armed Forces. So many young lives lost over years of conflict in such varied arenas and for such diverse causes in defence of the realm. Let us recall that in nature those poignant fields of red were strikingly relieved by little white poppies - Peace poppies.

Let us for the sake of all future generations assert that there is another way which we must learn to use and indeed embrace, refusing to accept the mindless slaughter of the young of all nations. We are all one people.
