An Aberystwyth man has lost a whopping 11-and-a-half stone thanks to a local group.

Wyn Jones from New Cross took the leap and joined a Slimming World group in Penparcau in October 2017 and he hasn’t looked back.

In the past two years, Wyn has lost an incredible 11-and-a-half stone and proved himself to be an inspiration to those around him.

He said: “Before I lost weight anything remotely active was my idea of a nightmare. I drove everywhere I could and I made excuses if anyone planned anything, I might end up getting out of breath for.

"I have so much more energy thanks to losing weight and getting fitter and the amazing food I’m eating too.

“The Food Optimising eating plan means I can fill up on lots of tasty everyday meals – I never feel hungry or deprived and I can still enjoy my favourite meals like roast dinner.”

Wyn, along with other members of Slimming World groups in Llanbadarn and Penparcau, challenged themselves in August to move more for charity.

The slimmers raised £1,300 for Cancer Research UK after they got behind a month-long activity campaign celebrating Slimming World’s 50th golden birthday year.

Thirty-three Slimming World members walked, ran, cycled, swam and some even skipped to complete their challenges.

The Penparcau and Llanbadarn members, who collectively have lost 77 stone since January, successfully covered 1,650 miles between them.
