Eryri YFC County Rally was held on Saturday, 25 May at Tai Hirion, Padog with all clubs from across the county gunning for the top prize.

After a full day of competing, hosts Ysbyty Ifan lifted the NFU Shield as winners with £100 prize money also donated by the NFU.

“It was a great day of competing, and a great dance at night,” said Wil Noble, rally chairman. “We are really grateful to everybody who came to support us.”

Rally secretary Caryl Hughes added: “Ysbyty Ifan YFC were very happy to welcome everyone to Tai Hirion, and grateful to Glyn and Hafwen and family for all the support and welcoming us to the farm.”

Competitions ranged from cookery to shearing, singing and mini-digger handling.

It would be impossible to hold such an event without the support of the local community and business, who have contributed towards the event.

The main sponsors were Thomas Plant Hire, Dafydd Wynne Finch, Fferm Ifan, Randall Parker Foods and Arfon Roberts & Company gave financial support as well as lend goods to be in use for the rally.

An Eryri YFC spokesman said they were very grateful to everyone who helped the organisation to ensure the success of the day, as the rally is the highlight and our main income stream for the year.
