CLWB Criced Y Bala produced a fantastic fightback to secure a three-wicket victory away at Gresford, chasing down 161 in a thrilling finish.

After Gresford won the toss and elected to bat, Bala put in a strong bowling performance to bowl the home side out for 160 in 33.2 overs.

Bala bowling figures: Rubel Ahmed 3-44, Jack White 2-19, Caio Jones 2-25, Nathan Aldridge 2-32, Jason Jones 1-37.

In reply, Bala’s chase became a real test of character.

At 107-7, the game looked to be slipping away as Caio Jones joined Karan Vasani at the crease.

What followed was an outstanding display of composure, determination and maturity from both players.

With the pressure firmly on, Jones and Vasani put together a match-winning 50+ partnership, refusing to give Gresford another chance to get back into the game.

Vasani played a brilliant innings of 33, while Jones remained not out on 16, guiding Bala over the line as they reached 162-7.

A fantastic performance from both players when it mattered most, stepping up in a difficult situation and finding a way to win the game for Bala.
