ABERDYFI were outscored as a lively Aberystwyth University Reserves took their chances to claim a 3-2 win on their travels in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League.
Dyfi had scored through Alex Bradbury and an own goal to lead 2-0 at the interval, but the students hit back well, with three goals in a seven minute spell.
Gytis Pivnickas scored a brace and Levi Challoner also netted to secure the points for the students, as they registered their sixth successive league triumph.
Penrhyncoch Reserves came within 10 minutes of ending the unbeaten record of league leaders Bont, before they were pegged back in an exciting 2-2 draw.
Bont went 1-0 up on 40 minutes through Fergus Morris, but almost straight from kick-off a long ball into the penalty box led to Tega Emeseh being brought down, and Matty Lewis converted from the spot.
Then, 10 minutes into the second half, Bont were stunned as another long ball saw Emeseh beat the keeper to the ball to tap home.
The league leaders battled on, however, and finally restored parity on 80 minutes when a cross was parried for Morris to net what could prove a crucial equaliser.
Second-placed Bow Street Reserves closed in as a brace from Nick Smith and goals from Ryan Evans and Shaun Jones earned them a 4-3 win away at Tregaron Turfs.
Two goals from Llyr Davies and an Ifan Jones goal had seen the battling Turfs fight back to 3-3, only to be denied by a late winner.
Llanilar beat Borth United Reserves 3-0, courtesy of a first half penalty from Clive Morgan, and second half goals from Rhydian ap Owen, direct from a corner kick, and Ryan Edwards, who ran through to score.
Two goals from George Jackson-Townshend and singles by Mike Rees, Mike Worsell and Joe Ephraim meanwhile earned Dolgellau Reserves a 5-2 win at Llanon in their Second Division Trophy group game.
