PENPARCAU made it nine wins from nine matches in the MMP Mid Wales League division two as they followed up their 4-2 win over Aberystwyth University at Park Avenue on Monday night with another 4-2 win at Abermule last weekend.

Goals from Andrew Gittins, with a brace, Ryan Edwards and Liam Lewis had secured the three points in their derby against the students, with Jonathan Ackroyd netting twice for the University side.Ryan Edwards then added two more goals to his impressive season’s tally last weekend as the league leaders picked up three more points at Abermule, along with goals by Liam Lewis and Mikey Gornall.

Charlie Kinsey and Ricky Davies scored the replies for Mule, but they were unable to prevent Penparcau from remaining three points clear at the top, with a game in hand on second-placed Newbridge.

After six weeks without a league game, Newbridge returned to action with a 4-3 home win against a decent Dolgellau side. Ryan Powell, Aeron Powell from the penalty spot, and Lyndon Jones, with a brace, secured the points, with Jake Jones, Jamie Jones and Jon Sutton netting replies.

Rhayader Town meanwhile shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Dyffryn Banw, despite playing for over an hour with 10 men, after Joe Wozencraft was sent off. Taylor Wozencraft scored both goals for the Kites, but they were left to reflect on missed chances as honours ended even.

Churchstoke took a much-needed points as goals from Jamie Betton, Natty Caslin and Ed Marston earned a 3-1 win over Presteigne, with Tom Crichton replying.

Jake O’Donnell scored a hat-trick as Forden United hammered Knighton Town 10-0 on Wednesday night, with Michael Henderson-Smith and Christian Webster also adding doubles for the home team.

Further goals from Tom Anderson, Alex Morgan and Ryan Jenkins completed the scoring, as struggling Knighton crashed to their 13th consecutive league defeat.
