A STIRRING second half comeback earned the Lakesiders a well-deserved point in a 1-1 draw at unbeaten Welsh Premier League leaders The New Saints on Friday night.

The Saints had taken the lead in the 13th minute when Aeron Edwards’ cross found a way past keeper Ashely Morris and landed in the top corner of the net.

Colin Caton’s side, however, fought back well and five minutes into the second half Rob Pearson found space in the box and drilled his low shot past keeper Paul Harrison for a deserved equaliser.

The Lakesiders had chances to have taken all three points, but the result and performance will leave them in good heart for their festive double-header against Rhyl, away on Boxing Day and then at home at Maes Tegid on New Year’s Day.
