PENRHYNDEUDRAETH FC has confirmed that Barry Evans will take over as manager, following Gareth Piercy’s decision to step down at the end of their Welsh Alliance season.

Jones joined the Club as a player from Pwllheli at the start of last season and went on to make 20 appearances. He has also played for Porthmadog, Wolverhampton Casuals and Shifnal.

“The Club would like to announce that Barry Evans has accepted the manager’s job following Gareth Piercy’s decision to step down at the end of the season,” said a Club spokesman.

“He has previous experience of managing in the Welsh Alliance division one, and we wish him the best for the new season.”

Last season’s manager Piercy had vacated the position at the end of last season, and he was thanked for his services."Gareth stepped in and re-joined the Club in March 2018, following Julien Jeffery’s resignation,” said a spokesman.

“He helped to steer the Club to two consecutive eighth place finishes in the Welsh Alliance division one, and also to the Cookson Cup Final last season.

“The Club would like to thank Piercy for all his time and efforts after his return.”

Training sessions for the new season will start on Tuesday, 2 July, at 6.30pm at Maes Y Parc. New players are welcome to attend.

Penrhyndeudraeth’s pre-season friendlies get under way on Saturday, 13 July away at Llanuwchllyn, before travelling to play Pas Madoc on 20 July, Tywyn/Bryncrug at home on Tuesday, 23 July, Bow Street at home on 27 July and Y Felinheli at jome on 3 August.

The end of season award winners were: Club Person of the Year Des Jones; Supporters’ Player of the Year Meilir Williams; Manager’s Player of the Year Iwan Lane; Top Goal Scorer Meilir Willams; Players Player’ of the Year Richard Jones.
