NEFYN United produced a battling performance but were edged out 1-0 by title-chasing Llannefydd in Saturday’s rearranged Lock Stock Ardal North West clash.

The visitors, now boasting seven wins from nine league matches, claimed the decisive goal on the half-hour mark when Thomas Jones converted from the penalty spot.

Despite a determined response from the Cae’r Delyn outfit, Nefyn were unable to find a way through a resilient Llannefydd side that moved to within three points of leaders Trearddur Bay while still holding two games in hand.

Nefyn will aim to bounce back when they travel to Llangefni Town on Saturday (2pm).

Elsewhere in the division, Ellis Hickey, Ieuan Jones, Cavan Daley and John King were all on target as Llay Welfare cruised to a 4-0 victory at Felinheli. Connah’s Quay also picked up three points thanks to a 2-0 success over Broughton United, with Freddie Watts and Rhys Parry finding the net.
