PENRHYNCOCH earned their first point of the Novira Cymru North season with a dramatic 2-2 draw against Denbigh Town at Cae Baker on Friday night.

The Roosters made a bright start and took a deserved lead midway through the first half when Rhydian Davies found the net, giving the hosts a 1-0 advantage at the break.

Denbigh hit back soon after the restart as Nathan Brown converted from the penalty spot to level matters. The visitors were then handed a second penalty six minutes later, but goalkeeper Leigh Jenkins produced a superb save to deny Brown and keep the scores level.

With both sides pushing for a winner, Penrhyncoch looked set to claim all three points when Jacob Michalski struck in stoppage time.

However, there was a final twist as Denbigh substitute Tomas Kelly grabbed a late equaliser with virtually the last kick of the game to deny the Roosters a first victory of the campaign.
