PWLLHELI achieved back-to-back wins in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division one, when they beat last season’s champions Trearddur Bay United 4-0, by means of doubles from Lukacs Baltovic and Mark Jones.
Midway through the first half, Baltovic opened their account by scoring on 21 minutes, Jones netted 60 seconds later and Baltovic again on 34.
Fourth-from-top Trearddur kept the hosts at bay for most of the second half until conceding another Jones goal seven minutes from the end.
Barmouth and Dyffryn United figured in only their third draw of the campaign as Llanrwst United earned a 1-1 outcome at Wern Mynach.
After a goalless first half, Adam Morris broke the deadlock on 49 minutes from six yards out, after meeting Carwyn Jones’s right wing cross.
Llanrwst, however, conjured up their equaliser on 66 minutes when Leon Doran met a left wing centre with a bullet shot past Adam Walters.
Ieuan Brookes, Carl Ryan and Rob Murfet spurned decent chances, but in stoppage time, the hosts survived a strong penalty claim by Llanrwst.
Penrhyndeudraeth’s slim prospects of capturing the Welsh Alliance title for the first time ended with their 2-0 home defeat to leaders Glantraeth.
The visitors plundered their two goals, from Gethin Maxwell after six minutes and Gerwyn Jones on 21.
Penrhyn improved in the second period, only for Carwyn Price and Liam Watson to miss their best chances.
Llanrug United featured a hat-trick from Carl Griffiths as they beat Greenfield 4-2 at their Eithin Duon ground, after leading 2-1 at half-time.
Griffiths was on target after 6, 58 and 82 minutes, and an own-goal helped on 37, whereas Greenfield had their replies from Liam Robinson on 34 and a Liam Jones penalty on 78.
St Asaph City beat Llandyrnog United 4-2, as they benefited from doubles by Shaun Davies on 25 and 62 minutes, and Jake Walker, on 51 and 74. Stuart Vernon replied on 12 minutes and Daniel Roberts on 90.
Nantlle Vale’s Aaron Hughes celebrated a hat-trick as the Penygroes hosts compounded the woes of bottom club Glan Conwy with a 4-0 win.
Hughes found the net on 45, 67 and 80 minutes and Vale’s other scorer was defender Simon Kay aftr 68.
Abergele raised eyebrows by winning 3-1 at Llangefni Town, where they inflicted a three goals’ blitz in the opening half-hour or so, through Jack Lloyd Williams on 10 and 32 minutes and Kieron Brady on 30. Daniel Thomas scored a reply on 28 minutes.
Llanberis got the better of Llandudno Junction 2-1, after a goal-less first half, and the score-sheet entries were Gethin Wakeham on 51 minutes and Stefan Jones on 77, as against the visitors’ Joel Hewitt on 87 from a penalty.
