RUSSELL Bentley of Eryri Harriers produced a strong performance to claim the overall victory at the 2019 Abersoch 10K race, the first round of the Abersoch Triple Crown Series.

Bentley clocked an impressive time of 33 minutes and 6 seconds, to finish ahead of second-placed Oliver Blake of OOTRI in 00:34:15 and Jamie Lambie of Shrewsbury third in 00:34:26.

Kate Green of Bournville Harriers was the fastest female in 00:42:24, from Elliw Haf of Eryri Harriers in 00:42:44 and Caryl Davies of Sarn Helen third in 00:43:02.

Paul Green of Sale Harriers was the first M40 runner to finish in a time of 00:35:42, from Alun Vaughan of Eryri Harriers second in 00:36:26 and Richard McKenna of Shrewsbury AC in third in 00:36:26.

Mike Pfeiffer of Builth and District RC was the first M50 runner in a time of 00:35:34, from Tony Taylor second in 00:39:08 and Kevin Clark third in 00:40:30.Nick Blake of Oswestry Olympians was the first M60 runner in 00:43:39, from Peter Walters of Winston Runners in 00:45:16 and Roy Fetherstone third in 00:45:16.

The first F40 runner was Diane Bygrave of Wimslow RC in 00:44:36, from Sian Beck of Prestatyn Running Club second in 00:45:03 and Rachel Hudson in 00:47:02.

Jane Ashworth was the first F50 runner to finish in 00:52:27, from Alison Blackshaw of Team Tri Guru second in 00:52:27 and Suzanne Griffiths third in 00:52:22. Mimi Owen was the fastest F60 in 00:52:52, from Jullian Martin second in 00:55:36 and Kathy Wantling in 00:56:58.

The Abersoch 3K race was won by Jenson Warren, first Under 14s male in 00:11:21, with Maddie Griffith second overall, first Under 14s female in 00:11:32. Third overall was William Wright in the Open Male category in a time of 00:11:35.

The Top 10 finishers were completed by Ethan Isaacs, second MU14 in 00:11:39; Zico Jones third MU14 in 00:11:44; Maisie Trueman, second FU14 in 00:12:02; Jack Barrago, fourth MU14 in 00:12:02; Harrison Stokes, first MU11 in 00:12:17; Milly Lever, FOPEN in 00:12:36; and Emma Bradley, third FU14 in 00:12:39.
