A helicopter was called out to rescue a woman from Moel Hebog, near Beddgelert.

Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team was called out on Sunday to a report of a woman with a ligament injury close to the summit of Moel Hebog.

Nine volunteers attended the scene and realised a helicopter would be needed.

A spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.47pm to reports of a female having sustained what was suspected to be a ligament injury close to the summit of Moel Hebog, near Beddgelert.

“The team deployed a total of nine members to the incident, and due to the significant carry-off with a stretcher that would be required, we requested assistance from the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter from Caernarfon.

“The aircraft was able to winch the female from the hill where she was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd for treatment.”

The team stood down shortly before 4pm.
