PEOPLE having heart attacks in Penparcau could now get emergency help thanks to defibrillators being placed around the village.

There are currently two defibrillators – a device used to deliver an electric shock to the heart following some types of heart attack, considerably increasing the chance of saving the recipient’s life – in Penparcau, located outside the Spar and at Neuadd Goffa.

But Penparcau Community Forum, which is part-funding the defibrillators with Calonau Cymru, the heart charity for Wales, looks set to introduce another before Christmas, with two more on the horizon.

Dylan Jones, of PCF, said: “The forum is working on a programme to place a total of five defibrillators around the village.

“The third will be located in Heol Tyn-y-Fron, next to the bus stop opposite the children’s caged play zone. We are awaiting Tai Ceredigion’s permission to place it on garages that they own.”
