A PROLIFIC offender has been jailed after crashing his car whilst disqualified and on drugs.

Last week, North Wales Police welcomed the “good news” after Toby Humphreys from Porthmadog appeared before Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court charged with disqualified driving, no insurance, careless driving and failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis.

He was also charged for being over the specified limit of cocaine, after being arrested earlier this year, as well as a Recall to Prison.

Humphreys was driving a Jaguar car that was involved in a collision near to the Ty Mawr tea rooms at about 1.15pm on Tuesday, 20 February.

He was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison and disqualified from driving for a further 38 months, to be added on his initial disqualification.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “Thankfully the vehicle that he hit coming the other way was a cement mixer, and not a small family hatch back where there would have undoubtedly been serious injuries or even death.”
