A LLYN farmer is lucky to be alive after a tractor’s heavy roller slipped from its trailer crushing him and breaking his pelvis.

Guto Roberts and his brother Deio were levelling the land at their farm in Morfa Mawr, Aberdaron, with the tractor roller when the accident occurred.

It was as the roller was lifted by the brothers onto the trailer that it slipped, crushing Guto.

The 27-year-old’s grandmother, Gwenda Parry, says her grandson is lucky to be alive.

She said: “Guto was flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd, but then moved to Stoke Hospital where he underwent a seven-hour operation. He is extremely lucky as his spine was okay, but his pelvis has been broken – it could have been a lot worse.

“In the last week he has been very weak and it will be some time before he’s fully recovered.”
