FIREFIGHTERS in Tywyn battled a “tremendous inferno” last week after a car dramatically caught fire at the seafront.
The car sustained 100 per cent fire damage towards the front of the car after an electrical fault.
North Wales Fire and Rescue attended the fire at approximately 6pm on Wednesday, 20 April, and used two hose-reel jets and two sets of breathing apparatus to battle the fire on Marine Terrace.
One bystander, who did not wish to be named, described the blaze as a “tremendous inferno” and said the fire service did well to contain the fire before the car’s fuel tank exploded.
No injuries were recorded at the scene.
