FOUR men have appeared in court on firearms charges after the shotgun death of a teenager in a pub car park next to a village pub.

Harry Butler, 22, of Llaniestyn, Pwllheli, Benjamin Fitzsimons, also 22, of Nanhoron, Pwllheli, Michael Fitzsimons, 24, of the same address, and Ben Wilson, 28, of Ely, Cambridge, are accused of between February 3 and 6 at Bodfuan estate, Abersoch and Llanbedrog, unlawfully having a loaded shotgun in a public place. Butler and the Fitzsimonses denied the charge and Wilson entered no plea.

Wilson also faced five allegations of failing to comply with conditions of firearms’ certificates involving access to a shotgun, rifle and ammunition.

They were bailed by magistrates at Caernarfon until 2 October at the town’s crown court.

Conditions of bail are that they don’t possess a firearm and they must not be drunk in a public place.

The case follows the February tragedy of Peter Colwell, 18, of Capel Uchaf near Clynnog Fawr, who died in a vehicle in a car park next to a village pub at Llanbedrog, near Pwllheli.

Police said the four accused were known to the teenager.
