POLICE patrols are being stepped up at a Harlech beauty spot in a bid to catch litter louts and underage drinkers.
Officers have taken action after concerns were received over the increasing levels of litter in the woodland between Ynys and Harlech beach car park.
PCSOs Darren Walters and Elliw Jones, who are investigating the on-going issue, say underage drinkers may be involved.
PCSO Walters said: “There are serious health and safety issues surrounding what is happening in this woodland.
“It is becoming worse and worse, it is as if a litter bomb has gone off at the site.
“There are hundreds of bottles and cans strewn across the area leaving behind sharp pieces of glasses which are a danger to others using the woodland.
“It concerns me that there may be underage drinking going on here too."
Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO Walters on [email protected] or call 101.
