A MAN suffering from hypothermia and a twisted ankle was rescued by South Snowdonia Search and Rescue team over the weekend.
The rescue team were alerted at 6.10pm on Sunday, 13 December that two men had got into difficulties above Allt y Ceffylau in the Moelwynion.
The two men had camped there two nights earlier and they were making their way down to their vehicles when they came into difficulties.
The team were notified that a 29-year-old man had become tired and suffered from hypothermia and a twisted ankle.
Two parties were sent out to find the men in poor visibility and in challenging terrain. Once they were located the Bristows 936 rescue helicopter was called but unfortunately wasn’t able to land due to the poor weather.
The quick thinking team then assisted the men down the mountain and placed into the team Land Rover at Cwmorthin Quarry.
The men both made their own way to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor to be checked out.
