A SEARCH and rescue team and the Coastguard came to the rescue of an injured woman near Machynlleth this afternoon.

Shortly before 1pm today, Sunday 5 July, Abedyfi Search and Rescue Team was requested to help in the transport of an injured woman at Tre’r-ddôl south of Machynlleth.

The 47-year-old local woman had been enjoying the wooded riverside paths of the Afon Cletwr near the WildFowler’s Inn with her husband when she slipped and injured her ankle.

A Coastguard team was first in attendance, and Aberdyfi Team volunteers arrived with equipment to help splint the injured limb and transport her off the hill.

The casualty was back down at the road shortly before 3pm and the family made their own way to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
