A CONVICTED sex offender found with animal porn is still living at a Llanbadarn Fawr sheltered housing complex more than a month after he escaped a prison sentence.

Malcolm Spencer Hearne was convicted in late September of possessing over 200 extreme pornographic images including images of people having sex with horses and dogs.

He has previously served two prison sentences for sexually assaulting children.

It emerged that Hearne, 76, was living at sheltered housing complex Glyn Padarn and following his conviction, residents believed that he would leave the property.

However, one concerned resident, who asked not to be named, said Hearne was still living at Glyn Padarn, despite Tai Ceredigion insisting that it could ask Hearne to leave under new antisocial behaviour legislation.

The resident said: “This man is still in residence here, so Tai Ceredigion has not kept its word about him moving on.”

A spokesperson for Tai Ceredigion said that, while they could not comment on individual tenancies, the housing association was looking to address concerns.

The spokesperson said: “I can state that we are fully aware of the situation and are working within our remit as a landlord to resolve matters as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
