ABERGLASLYN Mountain Rescue Team was called out three times in one day yesterday.

The first call came shortly after 12pm to assist a walker who had fallen in the Aberglaslyn Pass some 300 metres from the Nantmor Bridge and suffered a suspected broken leg.

The team responded with two vehicles and after treating the casualty for his injury, put their stretcher handling training on that very stretch of footpath only last week to good use, transferring the casualty to safety.

The second incident took the team to Mynydd Sygyn, where they assisted a lost walker and her two dogs.

“Alone, uninjured but not confident to continue, members were deployed who were all too happy to assist in guiding them back to the safety of their vehicle in Nantmor,” the spokesperson added.

The third call out required the assistance of the Coastguard helicopter and took them back to Mynydd Sygyn, approximately 200m away from the previous incident.

“Not only did this bring a sense of Déjà vu, it transpired we had stopped and chatted with this casualty during our first incident of the day! We were called just after 8pm to assist the casualty who had taken an unfortunate slip and sustained a suspected fracture to an ankle.

"The team deployed two vehicles to assist, and the assistance of a Coastguard helicopter was requested.”

“The aircraft took the casualty to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor for treatment.
