A Llanaelhaern man has been sentenced to a two-year suspended prison sentence and an indefinite restraining order after pleading guilty to offences associated with controlling and coercive behaviour.
Carwyn Roberts, 29, was sentenced at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday.
DC Siobhan Murray, who led the investigation, commended the bravery and strength of the victim in coming forward.
She said: “Violence against women can come in many forms. These experiences are sometimes hidden and not limited to physical violence including abusive treatment such as controlling and coercive behaviour or exploitation.
“These offences can have profound long-term effects on survivors and those closest to them.
“This investigation was complex and has taken considerable time to reach a conclusion. We are fully committed to improving trust and confidence in policing, and to relentlessly pursue those who create the greatest risk to our communities.”
