ALL TRAINS to and from Aberystwyth will be cancelled from midnight tonight, Wednesday, because of a strike by union members.
Negotiations between unions and Arriva Train Wales have broken down and no further talks are planned.
There will be no trains or replacement buses from 48 hours from midnight tonight.
Arriva has told customers it will “do all we can” to avert the action but are now advising customers to make alternative travel arrangements.
An ASLEF spokesman said: "The Executive Committee met with the Lead Officer and ATW Company Council this morning to consider two offers from the company. The EC found both offers to be unacceptable. The strikes planned for Thursday 12th & Friday 13th will go ahead.”
An Arriva spokeswoman said: "Should the industrial action go ahead, no Arriva Trains Wales services will operate during the strike period and no replacement road transport will be provided."
An RMT union letter to members said: "The union’s executive committee has again considered the matter and recognises the unwillingness of management to resolve this dispute and is extremely dissatisfied by the way the company has acted throughout this dispute.
"Therefore, you are instructed to take 48 hours of strike action by NOT booking on for any turns of duty between: 00:01 on Thursday 12th November 2015 to 23:59 on Friday 13th November 2015.
"Now is the time to stand together with your colleagues. A show of strength will show management that you are not prepared to tolerate their delaying tactics any longer in offering a fair pay offer and real improvements to your working conditions."
