I was delighted and a little surprised when Aberystwyth Town Council decided to buy the site of St Winefride’s Church, keeping it as an open space for recreational purposes.

Despite the sea and two rivers, Aberystwyth sadly lacks any standing water feature, even Parc y Llyn has failed to live up to its name. A small lake would attract wild birds and aquatic life into the town and be a natural draw to residents and visitors.
