A LLYN solicitor has been recognised as being one of the best in her profession after receiving a top award at a prestigious event.

Elissa Williams, from Bwlchtocyn, near Abersoch, was named Junior Lawyer of the Year by judges at this year’s Law Society’s 10th annual Excellence Awards in London.

Elissa, who works for Gamlins Law Ltd in Rhyl, was praised for her ‘dedication’ and ‘professionalism’.

The judges said: “At three years qualified, this employment practitioner has built an impressive profile for herself and her firm, not only in her home country of Wales, but also outside the region.

“Her knowledge, professionalism and dedication to helping others have seen her become a regular contributor to BBC Radio Wales, as well as leading on several community and pro bono projects, including being a voluntary RNLI crew member.”

Elissa said: “I am so pleased to have won the Law Society Junior Lawyer of the Year, I have so much respect for the achievements of the other shortlisted candidates and was very proud to have been included in the list.

"To win was beyond any expectation, and I am very grateful for the support shown to me by the firm in enabling me to work in a field I am so passionate about.”
