A SPECIAL event has been held in Porthmadog to praise local businesses for making themselves dementia friendly.

Broadcaster Beti George came along to Porthmadog Football Club to help raise awareness of dementia, with over 100 people attending to hear her talk.

The event was organised by Porthmadog Dementia Friendly Group, who also handed out a number of certificates to businesses in the town for their work in making their businesses dementia friendly.
