Jobs are set to be safeguarded and new roles created at a major Gwynedd employer, it has been announced this morning.

Trawsfynydd has been chosen as the site to lead Magnox’s nuclear reactor decommissioning project.

The news was revealed to staff in a virtual meeting this morning.

Site director Angharad Rayner said: “I welcome the news. It’s excellent.

“Retaining jobs and increasing the number of them is very important for retaining young people in the area.

“I look forward to leading the site.”
