ABERYSTWYTH Business Club has presented a cheque for £1,000 to PATRASA, The Penrhyncoch and Trefeurig Recreation and Sport Association.

Representatives from PATRASA attended the club’s last meeting to give a short talk to the members on how the funds would be used.

“PATRASA would like to thank Aberystwyth Business Club for their kind contribution towards our fundraising efforts,” said Clare Larke, PATRASA committee member.

“The £1,000 donated will allow PATRASA to put on ‘Party in the Park’ under a marquee.

“This is a significant event in our fundraising calendar which has been cancelled due to bad weather for the past two years. The marquee will ensure that the event can go ahead whatever the weather. Monies raised from this event will be spent on new equipment to improve the play area,” she said.

The business club is inviting local organisations to apply for financial support before its next meeting on 12 February.

Applications can be made online on the club’s website and need to be submitted by 12 February 2018.

The Aberystwyth Business Club was formed in 1998 as a dynamic and active group of passionate business people who operate in Aberystwyth.

The club has given funds totalling over £125,000 to more than 50 charitable causes.

“As a business club we have supported over 50 organisations with funds totalling over £125,000. Funding can be for small amounts too. Sometimes even a donation of £100 can make a real difference to the community,” said Eddy Webb, chair.
