A RALLY and classic car run will be held in memory of a Lampeter motoring enthusiast and well-known personality on Sunday.
Lampeter town councillor Greg Evans died last May, having battled a brain tumour for several months.
He was president of Lampeter Motor Club at the time of his death and on Sunday fellow enthusiasts will take to the roads in his memory.
“The last time I talked to Greg before he was taken ill we discussed the possibility of organising an historic car run,” close pal Islwyn Evans told the Cambrian News.
“On Sunday we will finally get round to having one – it’s just a shame Greg won’t be there.
“We don’t know how many cars will turn up but all proceeds will go towards Brain Tumour Research.”
Participants will meet up at Lampeter’s Rookery car park from 11am and begin their 75-mile run, taking in Llandovery and Tregaron, at 12.30pm.
There is an entry fee of £20 per car and tickets are available from Llanarth Auto Services, Perris Garage and Windy Corner Coaches as well as from Islwyn Evans (07989 558328) and Greg Evans’s daughter, Delun (07977 790339).
The event will be followed by evening entertainment at the university.
