Celebrating 50 years of the arts

Aberystwyth Arts Centre is celebrating its 50th birthday this year, and the venue needs your help to put together an anniversary exhibition.

The arts centre plans to put together an exhibition to celebrate their five-decade story, featuring the building, the people, performances, exhibitions, classes and more.

Ffion Rhys, Aberystwyth Arts Centre’s visual arts manager and curator, said: “Do you have old photos, films, posters, tickets or stories you would like to share?

“We would like to see and hear them!

“Write down your story or record yourself on your phone, send a digital copy of your old photos/posters/tickets.

“Don’t worry if you would prefer not to exhibit an original artefact, we can find ways to reproduce them digitally.

“We are very much looking forward to seeing what you have!”

Digital copies of any material can be emailed, with a brief description, to [email protected], or pictures can be tagged with #aberarts50 on Instagram or Twitter.

Alternatively, someone from the arts centre can arrange a meeting for those who would prefer to come to the venue in person to tell their stories, and to show their photographs/items.

The deadline for submissions and to get in touch is 1 May.
