THE CEREDIGION Federation of Women’s Institute held its charity walk to raise funds for the Associated Country Women of the World. The federation is currently raising funds for birth attendants in Ghana and holds many similar events in support of the ACWW.
Its two guides, Nikki and Miguel from Natural Resources Wales, led members on a most interesting tour depicting remains of evidence that Ynyslas was secretly used in the experimentation of rocket propellants and missile testing during the Second World War.
After the walk, members returned to Searivers Caravan Park Café where their hosts, Janet and Stephen, had provided them with a delicious buffet. Their service to the group was flawless and members thanked them and the park owners for providing such excellent facilities.
Afterwards, the group finished off the day visiting Borth Railway Museum. Members agreed that it has the most interesting displays of railway artefacts and memorabilia.
When inside, you are transferred to a bygone age of rail travel. Created over the years by George and his team, it is amazing how they have accomplished so much considering they rely solely on visitors’ donations.
Members appreciated all the knowledge George conveyed to the group.
