A PWLLHELI teenager has thanked staff on the hospital unit where her late Nan received treatment for cancer by recording and selling a charity CD.
Beca Haf Jones, 16, recently presented staff on Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Alaw Unit with a cheque for £2,035.40, which was raised through sales of her popular CD.
The talented former Ysgol Glanaethwy student says she was inspired to fundraise following the “wonderful care and treatment” her late Nan received on Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Alaw Unit, during a brave battle with cancer.
Beca’s aunt, Vicky Williams said: “My mother Brenda used to love listening to Beca singing, and one of her last wishes was for Beca to sing at her funeral.
“After she passed away in October 2015, Beca decided it would be fitting to record a CD in her memory to raise money for the Alaw Unit, where Brenda received fantastic care.”
Beca and her family made an emotional return to the Alaw Unit this month to present staff with a cheque for the money raised.
