CHILDREN from Ysgol Llanbedrog and Ysgol Foelgron, Mynytho attended workshops at Plas Glyn y Weddw this week as part of an educational programme connected with the John Piper Mountains of Wales exhibition currently on show at the gallery.
The workshops were run by Eleri Evans, educational officer at Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum of Wales, Cardiff and Haf Neale, trainee educational officer at the Museum. They were joined by the poet Twm Morys, who worked with the children to create poetry inspired by the John Piper paintings.Drop-in sessions were also held for families on Thursday, 29 October and Saturday, 31 October as part of the educational programme which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.Eleri Evans said: “This is an excellent opportunity for Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales to work with people and children from a part of Wales that is a considerable distance from the Museum in Cardiff.”The John Piper exhibition, which is on loan from the National Museum can be seen at Plas Glyn y Weddw until 13 December.
