AT the July meeting, president Neris Lloyd welcomed 28 members and the minutes, newsletter and any business matters were discussed.
Items needed for the carnival stall were outlined, and then Neris introduced the guests, six members of the Aberystwyth branch of Blood Bikes Wales complete with their bikes.
They talked about how the bike was adapted to carry all manner of items and then Medwyn Parry gave a talk about how it all began in 2011, and is run completely by volunteers, with no charges made and all services completely free.
They carry not only blood products but samples, medicines and surgical tools as well as EBM for premature babies.
All the drivers have Advanced Driving Certification and drive long distances in all weathers.
They have taken part in relays to transfer items across the country.
After an interesting video, questions were answered, followed by refreshments.
The vote of thanks for such an interesting and thought-provoking talk was given by Linda Hughes.
The raffle was won by Sylvia Henson, and the competition for a heart-shaped item was won by Ann Evans with Gloria Davies coming second.
There will be no meeting next month but the annual treasure hunt will be on 2 August, starting in Square Field at 5.30pm.
