Winter Festival

The Winter Festival is being held at the park this week with ice skating available all week and an Alpine Winter Market.

On Tuesday, a Blaenau’s Got Talent event took place with the final round with Dilwyn Morgan on Wednesday. Tonight (Thursday) the band and local choirs will have a community carol singing session and Dafydd Iwan and the Horizons will take the stage of Friday.

On Saturday it is Rainbow and the 4YS (Gypsy Jazz) plus Gai Toms and his Band. and on Sunday there will be more community carol singing.

The festival will be open till 9pm on Thursday and 10am to 10pm over the weekend

Gallery

The Maenofferen Gallery hosts an exhibition by the Blaenau Art Group until the 15 December and admission is free during the library’s opening hours.

Darts

The men’s darts team were 6-2 winners over a Penygroes side in their recent Gwynedd Super League match played last week at the local RWF Club.

Christmas Lights

Just a reminder that the switching on of the town’s Christmas Lights takes place tonight at 6pm and that Father Christmas will be at T? Gorsaf between 1pm and 4pm and 6pm till 8pm. Also the winner of the Victorian window will be announced at T? Gorsaf at 6pm.

Retirees

Beryl Williams is arranging a Trawsfynydd Power Station Retirees Union get together to be held at Canolfan Prysor at noon on Friday this week.

Present will be Goronwy (Gron) Williams, the former site operations superintendent who has promised to bring his collection of photos which will be of great interest to those attending.

As he is moving to live near Cheltenham in the New Year he is going to donate the photographs to the retirees union.

Clwb Merched

Gwraig wadd cyfarfod diwethaf Clwb Merched Nos Fawrth oedd Eleri o siop a chaffi Y Gorlan a chafodd yr aelodau weld sut i addurno ‘cup cakes’ at Nadolig.

Yn ogystal, cafwyd cystadleuaeth gwneud rhosyn efo icing a’r enillwyr oedd Ann a Lena.

Llongyfarchwyd Gwenys am ddod yn hen nain a gwesteion y te oedd Carys, Lena a Christine a Medwen oedd enillydd y raffl, rhoddedig gan Maureen.
