International cap

LOCAL rugby player Jessica Kavanagh-Williams who has been a member of the Wales ladies side who have taken part in the recent internationals, has been congratulated by the Town Council on winning her international caps.

Advice

A REPRESENTATIVE of the Citizens Advice Bureau will be at the library between 10am and 1pm on Mondays ready to deal with any relevant issues one might have and no appointment is needed to be present.

Police

PCSO Delyth Edwards has stated that crime wise it is very quiet in the area at the moment.

The CCTV system is a big help in recognising offenders.

Church

THE Wrexham Diocese has made a planning application for alterations to the local Saint Mary Magdalene Church at 2/3 High Street which include to form a new entrance and converting the second floor to provide living accommodation and the application is to be discussed by the Town Council Amenities Committee.

Gwyl Llechi

IT has been confirmed that this year’s Gwyl Llechi is to be held between 14 and the 21 July.

Dref Werdd

THE Dref Werdd has approached the Town Council for them to consider using the Dref Werdd to deal with rhododendron on public footpaths, similar to the work with the knotweed that was made during the summer last year and the council has agreed to work with them.

Planning

THE town council has no objection to a planning application by the local Co-op to vary the hours when licensing activities may take place from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday to 6am to 11pm on Monday to Saturday.

The council also permitted two other Co-op planning applications: 1, was proposed replacement of plant with new external refrigeration plant to rear of site as well as painting of building; and 2, various new signage to include illuminated fascia and totem signs.

The planning applications to convert to convert an outbuilding at Teiliau Mawr to a holiday unit was permitted as was one application to demolition of detached garage and erection of two storey side extension and garage at 2, Maes y Coed, Ffestiniog.

Library

THE local library will host a Mother’s Day Cards event for 12 to attend this Friday between 3.30pm and 4pm and on Monday from 3.45pm and 4.45pm there will be a Fun Book Club for the Year 3 and 4 children with space for 12 to attend.
