St Mary’s Women’s Fellowship

The Annual spring coffee morning made £210 and all monies go to othe speaker’s charities and St Mary’s Church.

Nine members attended the meeting on 9 April.

Jessie opened with the Lord’s prayer and the speaker was Shan Lea, who gave an excellent slide show about her beautiful home and gardens at Craig y Ffynnon.

Throughout the slide show she covered the history of the house’s gardens and other points of interest in the surrounding area.

Both she and her husband are experienced and dedicated gardeners, and it certainly was apparent from the slides of their interesting gardens.

In the past they opened the gardens to the public, and hope to do so again.

Shan showed some slides from the past , and how she and her husband have kept the atmosphere set by the original owners, whilst sympathetically improving and restoring them, using local materials.

Shan shared some gardening tips which were appreciated and Jessie gave the vote of thanks.
