ROGER Spencer from Trefhedyn Garden Centre in Newcastle Emlyn is a regular visitor to Drefach Felindre Gardening Club but he never ceases to amuse and enthral his listeners.

He was the speaker for the October meeting and his topic was ‘Planting a Rockery Outdoors and Making an Alpine Garden in a Container’.

The next meeting is a change to the norm and will be on Wednesday, 28 November, in order to miss the Newcastle Emlyn Victorian evening.

Members to bring along a contribution to a Christmas Buffet and there will be a talk by Carrie Williams entitled ‘Botanicus Tongtwistii! Give up: Latin names, why bother?’.

Carrie is a self-confessed plantaholic.

The meeting will be held at the usual time of 7.30pm in the Red Dragon Hall.

The club will also hold their annual Christmas dinner on Wednesday, 12 December, at Newcastle Emlyn Rugby Club.

January’s meeting will be on Wednesday, 9 January, and will be a talk by Richard Williams on snowdrops.

Drefach Felindre Gardening Club meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of each month at the Red Dragon Hall from 7.30pm.
