LAMPETER’s Young At Heart Christmas party at the town’s Victoria Hall today (Wednesday) is open to all the pensioners of Lampeter, town mayor Cllr Ann Bowen Morgan has confirmed.

Tree donation

LAMPETER Rotarians have been thanked for their donation of trees to be planted at Parc yr Orsedd as part of its significant revamp.

Town mayor Cllr Ann Bowen Morgan said the authority were very grateful for Lampeter Rotary Club’s donation of three cherry trees and a walnut tree.

Members were told that work at the park was due to commence this week following a community grant of £6,012 and £2,000 from Wales and West Housing Association.

Cllr Chris Thomas confirmed that the gate had been repaired.

Town clerk Meryl Thomas has also pointed out to Ceredigion County Council that loose stones and pillars require attention.

Play area

LAMPETER town councillors are being urged to take up a lease for the Maesyfelin play area from Tai Ceredigion as soon as possible.

Cllr Hag Harris said such a move would enable the authority to decide exactly what they wanted to do with the park.

White Ribbon Vigil

ON Sunday, 24 November, there was a white ribbon vigil in Harford Square, Lampeter to support the end of violence towards women.

Men and women spoke, including the local police commissioner and Lampeter’s mayor.

There were songs and poems and candles were lit.

The traffic was stopped for two minutes so that the Venus women’s symbol was made by people linking hands around the roundabout and down College Street.
