‘Dangerous’ trees

ACTION needs to be taken over a ‘dangerous’ group of overhanging trees along a public bridleway in Penlan at Abermeurig, near Lampeter, according to a local resident.

The woman, who does not wish to be named, said: “The tree’s roots are fully exposed and are in a very dangerous condition and nothing is being done about it. It is an accident waiting to happen.

“When these trees do come down, I hope to God that someone isn’t underneath them.

“If nothing is done there could be a tragedy.”

Her concerns are shared by local councillor Odwyn Davies.

“Branches should be cut if they are overhanging to save the trees from blown down,” he told the Cambrian News.
