MEMBERS celebrated St David’s Day in the traditional manner by partaking in cawl and afters at Cegin Gareth, where a lovely meal had been prepared for the group.

Light entertainment followed the meal, when solos, duets and a group sing-song had been devised, and a poem was read to celebrate the occasion.

A warm vote of thanks was voiced by Sally Davies to all who had contributed to a successful afternoon.

Members agreed that this was an event which will be remembered for a long time.

The raffle winners were: Raymond Farrow, Jill Smith, Alunda Jones, Betty Lockyer, Helen Frensh, Gwen Lewis, Maisie Morgans, Peter Cornelious, Maureen Williams, Maureen Morgans, Peter Cornelious, Maureen Williams, Maureen Morgans, Jean Baker, Sally Davies and Mair Snate.

The next meeting will be the mystery trip on 6 April.

Ar 7 Fawrth bu’r Dderi yn ffodus iawn i gael gwahoddiad gan Ferched y Wawr Tregaron i ymuno â hwy yn eu dathliad o Wyl Ddewi.

Cafwyd croeso cynnes, gwledd fendigedig ac arddangosfa o osod blodau penigamp gan Donald Morgan.

Roedd pawb wedi mwynhau’r noson yn enfawr.

St Cybi’s ChurchON Maundy Thursday, 29 March, at 6.30pm there will be a Eucharist of the Last Supper Communion service commemorating Jesus’ last meal with his disciples.The service is followed by a short period of silent prayer and meditation.Celebrant and preacher Rev Bill Fillery will lead the bilingual service.On Good Friday, 30 March, at 11am there will be Meditation on the Way of the Cross.This is a service in English of prayers and readings commemorating the death of Jesus on the cross that all who believe in him may have eternal life.On Saturday, 31 March, at 7.30pm there is the Easter Vigil with the lighting of the Easter bonfire bringing the light of the world into church, followed by renewal of promises made at Baptism.On Easter Sunday, 1 April, the Easter Eucharist is at 9am.This will be a bilingual Communion service celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, with celebrant and preacher Rev Canon Andy HerrickThe people of St Cybi’s invite everyone to join them.
