THE November meeting was very well attended and it was announced that there are now 100 members. Sarah Wentworth was present to speak about Arts4wellbeing in Ceredigion, which specialises in creating fully inclusive accessible training designed to engage, inspire and motivate.

The next meeting will be held at the Community Hall on 5 December and will be an informal Christmas social with fun activities followed by a buffet provided by the members.

The following meeting will be on Wednesday, 2 January and the speaker will be the chairman Jim Sibley whose talk will be entitled ‘Through the Microscope’.

It is hoped to start two new groups in the new year.

These will be a Spanish conversation group and a science based group.

The newly-formed Welsh conversation group is well attended and going really well.

There are now more than 20 groups for members to enjoy during the month as well as our main monthly mission.

Monthly meetings usually take place on the first Wednesday of the month at 10.30am for 11am at the Community Hall, Church Lane, and usually finish about 12.15pm.

AT THE November branch meeting at Cawdor Hall, the chairman reported that a large congregation had attended the centenary Armistice Day Service conducted by Rev Canon Dewi Roberts (Branch Chaplain) at Holy Trinity Church on 11 November and the wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial which followed the service.

Refreshments were provided in the Community Hall courtesy of the Scouts.

A report from the Poppy Appeal officer advised that the collection taken in church was £653 and that the 2018 appeal which continues until the end of September 2019 had already passed £10,000.

The chairman’s annual letter will be issued shortly and will include details of the annual dinner to be held at Clwb Rugbu at 7pm for 7.30pm on Friday, 18 January.

All members, collectors, helpers, supporters and friends are welcome to attend.
