Garden club

The first garden club meeting of 2018 was well attended considering it was a terrible wet evening on Tuesday, 9 January. They met, as usual, at Tywyn Baptist church.

The guest speaker was Katie Pearce, who gave a good talk, very well researched, on ‘From soil to mouth – Growing for Flavour’.

Members were given handouts to remind them what had been said and all hope to be able to grow something this spring.

Ann Jordan gave the vote of thanks and Ann Malin won the lucky prize.

Club secretary Sue Yeomans gave prior notice about the Meirioneth Horticultural Society AGM and lunch, to be held at the Red Lion, Dinas Mawddwy, on Saturday, 17 February starting with the AGM at 11am.

Payments were made for the annual lunch at the Woodlands and members were asked to think about what outing they would like this summer.

The annual outing will be to Bodnant, the date not fixed yet.

The next meeting is on 13 February at 7.30pm in Tywyn Baptist Church, when Eurwyn Roberts will talk about ‘Spring colour in the garden’.
